Kids Design Award is going into the next round:

Designs for the next round of the design competition can be submitted until 3 June 2019. The best idea will be honoured with the Kids Design Award.

A swivel chair with a mini playground, an extremely versatile children’s furniture system or an educational wooden construction game that helps children learn to read, write and count – such innovative ideas for children and baby products have been honoured with the Kids Design Award in recent years. The renowned competition for creative young designers is now going into the next round, and once again outstanding concepts and designs for the children’s room of tomorrow are being sought.

For the sixth time, Kind + Jugend and the Association of German Industrial Designers (VDID) invite students and young designers from around the world to submit their product concepts. The ten most convincing ideas will be nominated for the award and presented to an international audience at Kind + Jugend from 19 to 22 September 2019. A high quality expert jury of experts from the fields of design, industry and education will select the winner of the Kids Design Award 2019 from the group of nominees.

Attractive for young designers and manufacturers

However, it is not only the chance to win the Kids Design Award that makes the competition so attractive for young designers. All participants profit from a great deal of attention to their ideas: The ten nominees can exhibit their designs at no charge in an exclusive special area of the leading international trade fair for high quality baby and toddler outfitting, and thus have the chance to realise and market their idea together with a manufacturer. The submissions of the competition participants that haven’t been nominated will also be presented to potential product sponsors following the trade fair, in the exclusive Matchmaking365 community for exhibitors, trade visitors and interested parties.

This all shows that one profits from even participating in the Kids Design Award. This is because every idea receives the chance to connect with interested parties from the industry, and every young designer can establish contacts important for his or her future. Conversely, manufacturers and dealers also profit. This is because nowhere else will they find so many brilliant, promising ideas for children and baby products.
