Kind + Jugend is growing and growing! More than 24,700 trade visitors from 123 countries and growth in the number of visitors of 10 percent – the trade fair once again made a big leap forward. More visitors came, for example, from the United Kingdom, France, Italy and Spain. An increase in the number of visitors from Asia was also recorded, especially from China. More visitors from North America were also noted. And of course more visitors came from Germany!
Unique trade fair profile: business platform, innovation hub and trend barometer
Exhibitors from around the world presented many innovations and trends at their stands for all segments of the baby and children’s outfitting sector and showed that they are able to repeatedly adapt to their target groups. In addition to the theme of safety, the focus was also on digitalisation in the baby care segment. At the same time, the aspect of sustainability is increasing in importance all the time. This is reflected not only in the material, but also in the design, the durability and the (environmentally-friendly) disposal of the products.
The event programme, with its top-class lectures, as well as the conferring of the popular Innovation Award and Kids Design Award also impressed visitors. Katharina C. Hamma, Chief Operating Officer of Koelnmesse, summarised the unique profile of the trade fair: “Visitors not only appreciate the productive business atmosphere of the trade fair, with direct contacts, but also allow themselves to be inspired by the innovations and trends presented by the exhibitors each year in Cologne. This special quality, both as a business platform and as a central innovation hub and trend barometer, is only offered by Kind + Jugend.”
Convincing in every respect: many exhibitors and visitors plan to return in 2019
From the wholesale and retail trade through the specialised trade and department stores to drugstores and online commerce – representatives of all commercial channels came to Cologne. The exhibitors unanimously praised the high degree of decision making competence of purchasers and the strong interest in new products and new sales concepts.
Many exhibitors have already confirmed their participation for next year and booked their stands for 2019.
An independent visitor survey showed that visitors were also impressed with the trade fair. Thus, 80 percent of buyers are planning to return to Kind + Jugend in 2019.
Kind + Jugend 2018 was a success in every respect!
