Initiative for the environment and social welfare
Kind + Jugend is sending a clear message about its commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. In collaboration with Diakonie Michaelshoven, 100 product donations were collected from exhibitors for the first time after Kind + Jugend 2024, with the specific aim of supporting social causes in the region. This initiative marks the beginning of a long-term partnership that strengthens social projects while promoting the conscious use of resources.
Some of the donated goods will be sold in Diakonie Michaelshoven’s fairstores.
Where the donations go
The items collected at Kind + Jugend 2024 have been allocated to two key Diakonie Michaelshoven projects.
A portion of the donations will be sold at affordable prices in their fairstores. These stores not only provide a sustainable shopping experience but also create employment opportunities for individuals facing challenges in the regular job market. All proceeds from the sales will go to social projects.
The remaining donations will be distributed directly to families and individuals in need who receive support from Diakonie.
A win-win for all
For Kind + Jugend exhibitors, this initiative offers an exceptional opportunity to champion sustainability and make a tangible social impact. Products that would otherwise be discarded after the trade fair now serve the dual purpose of conserving valuable resources and providing support to people in the region.
